Introducing Ketamine Therapy at Diip
We are starting ketamine therapy at Diip for selected treatment-resistant cases, with clinic days on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We are now offering ketamine therapy at Diip as a structured, medically supervised treatment pathway.
The service is intended mainly for treatment-resistant depression, and for selected cases of severe anxiety, PTSD, or chronic pain where standard care has not helped enough. It is not a first-line treatment, and the first step is an evaluation to decide whether ketamine therapy is appropriate and safe.
We are starting with a dedicated ketamine clinic two days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Before treatment begins, we review medical history, current medications, expectations, aftercare, and informed consent in detail.
Each infusion session is delivered in person. A licensed doctor monitors vital signs throughout, with a senior consultant psychiatrist on-site supervising. The infusion usually takes 60–90 minutes, but the full visit is longer because clients need time for arrival, recovery, and medical clearance before discharge.
Most clients should expect a course of sessions rather than a single appointment. A typical induction course is around six sessions over two to three weeks, followed by maintenance sessions every two to four weeks if the treatment is helping.
Psychotherapy does not happen during the infusion itself. Integration, psychiatric review, medication decisions, and therapy work happen separately, so ketamine sits inside a wider care plan rather than replacing it.
We were motivated to introduce this program based on roadblocks in treatment of resistant cases of depression that we have encountered over the years and hoped to have been able to refer to Ketamine Services. We hope to be able to serve Lahore and surrounding cities the best we can with this offering.
